Nearby views of distant Gibraltar plus Morocco in the far distance When is the best time to visit? The village has an enjoyable climate throughout the year. Most hill-walkers prefer the moderate climate of April/May or late September/October. However, even in the hot months of June/July/August the village is a hot but pleasant place as it is at altitude (600 metres - 1800 feet) and there is usually a gentle breeze along the river valley. Winters, although being in the Mediterranean “wet” season, are often sunny and mild in the daytime with temperatures only falling sharply at night-time.
